SensoMetrics is a consumer
research company which is
psychophysical in its orientation.
The company commenced operations in 1989, the brainchild of the partnership of leading sensory researcher Dr Robert McBride and Warwick Hoare.
Dr McBride brought to the new company 18 years of experience as a sensory research scientist with the CSIRO, Australia’s premier scientific research organization. During this time he conceived and developed techniques of sensory evaluation and applied psychophysics, which would form the operating philosophy and methodologies of SensoMetrics.
Warwick Hoare brought more than 20 years of commercial market research experience to the company as a partner in Yann Campbell Hoare Wheeler, (now Millward Brown), providing a solid commercial footing to the new and challenging approach to the measurement of consumer responses.
The 'Sensometricians'
SensoMetrics is a consumer research company which is psychophysical in its orientation. That is, it views the consumer’s response to a product as part of the general pattern of the reaction to their environment. Our sensory research team must therefore be able to call on expertise in experimental psychology as well as food technology. The key is to isolate, as far as possible, the role of the product in the complex array of stimuli that we deal with as consumers, (see Our Philosophy).
Operations and Facilities
SensoMetrics conducts all components of the research - client liaison, research design, respondent recruitment, fieldwork (see Facilities), data processing, analysis and data interpretation. The continuous integration of each step of the research process is critical to the maintenance of rigorous research standards, (see Services).

Locations
With head offices in Sydney, Australia, SensoMetrics conducts consumer sensory research throughout Australia and New Zealand, and Asia.
